RIM drops 64GB BlackBerry Playbook to $299
Always wanted me to get the BlackBerry PlayBook
but have not had the chance to get a good deal. There’s been some
limited promos in the US and my friend there wanted to wait ’til it
drops to $199. Well, it looks like the BlackBerry Store is now doing a
$299 sale on all models of the PlayBook.
What’s weird though is that it’s $299 on all the models, from the 16GB to the 64GB.
With BB PlayBook OS 2.0 coming out this quarter and the Android Market port that comes with it, the 64GB Playbook seems like a steal.
I think this price drop might just be temporary (fine print says it will be only until February 4) or it is possible they will be announcing the 2nd generation PlayBook and wanted to rid of all the remaining inventories. Don’t think they’ll do a $99 tablet just like what HP did.
