Demo: yapf for Windows Phone. Place Finder With Google
Here’s a demo of yapf for Windows Phone shown on a Nokia Lumia 800. How do you say it? yapf is a point-of-interest finder. You can use Google as the search engine. Users who don’t like Bing will like this app, but the new version 2.0 now also gives you the option to choose either one.
You can also watch this video in HD on Youtube. Subscribe to the channel to preview the latest videos before they get published on the blog.
Use yapf to find places nearby by searching a set of predefined categories or by manual search. There’s also an AUGMENTED REALITY option. You can view your results through your phone camera and merge the two worlds together.
You can pin tiles to the homescreen so you can search for places directly.
On the results page, you can tap on a POI for directions. You can use walking or car navigation. You also have options to show the results into a map or give them a call.
This video shows version 2.0 of yapf. This is what’s new:
- BING SEARCH SUPPORT
- ADDED OPTION TO CHOSE THE DISTANCE UNIT
- ADDED OPTION TO USE SYSTEM OR YAPF THEME
- ADDED RADAR TO AR PAGE
- NOW THE USER CAN TAP RESULTS IN AR MODE TO GET INFO
- NEW LIVE TILE
- CHANGES IN SETTINGS AND HELP PAGE
- SOME MINOR FIXES
